Star Patrol

Rows of raiders march side to side and creep lower each time they reach the edge. Your ship fires on its own. Move left and right to aim, dodge their bombs, and clear the wave before they reach you.

Move with the arrow keys, the mouse or your finger. Your cannon fires automatically.

How to play Star Patrol

Your ship sits at the bottom of the screen and fires a shot every quarter of a second. Move it under the raiders to hit them. Raiders in the top rows are worth more points. When the formation touches either side, it drops closer to you. Destroy every raider to start the next, faster wave. From wave 3, the top row has armoured raiders that take two hits.

You have three lives. You lose one if a bomb hits your ship or if the raiders reach the bottom of the screen.

Tips

  • Thin out the edges. Clearing the outer columns makes the formation take longer to reach the sides, which slows its descent.
  • Keep moving. A moving ship is harder for bombs to hit.
  • Do not hug a wall. Staying near the middle leaves room to dodge both ways.

Fixed shooters were among the first arcade hits of the late 1970s. Star Patrol is an original Homivoo game drawn on an HTML5 canvas, with automatic fire so it plays well on touch screens.
